Ic&c minerals’ silica sand is a versatile and reliable material that is widely used in the foundry industry. It is known for its high-quality and consistent performance, making it a preferred choice for foundry silica sand in india.
At present, we are involved in the business of Silica Sand & Quartz Silica. Widely known as white sand or industrial sand, the Silica Sand is made up of two primary elements: That is Silica and Oxygen. It is called Silicon dioxide (SiO2).
How Silica Sand is different from regular sand?
The sand that we use in our everyday life is called a brown sand or construction sand. It also contains some amount of Silica. But it is not pure. So, it can’t be used for the special purposes. The typical brown sand used for construction and other related activities can contain only 70 to 75% of SiO2, along with minerals like iron, potassium, carbonate, and several other trace elements/minerals. This will make regular sand susceptible to chemical reactions. On the other hand, the Specialized Silica Sand contains over 95% to 98% Silicon dioxide. That makes Silica sand can be useful in a variety of industries like Foundry, Casting, Glass Manufacturing, Construction Chemicals and Paints etc

Glassmaking
Silica Sand is one of the primary ingredient in the glassmaking industry. From windows, to making all kinds of bottles, Silica Sand is extensively used.
Construction Materials
Silica Sand is the foremost structural element in a number of construction products. Flooring to roofing shingles, Silica is used to improve toughness and stability. Due to its resistant to weather, wear and corrosion, it is frequently used as a seal.
Paints & Coatings
Silica Sand is extensively used to enhance the look and durability of the paint. The fillers made from Silica improve tint reduction and dirt resistance in the paint. Its oil-absorption properties makes a durable coating agent.
Golf courses & all kinds of sports fields
Silica Sand is used to create the natural as well as synthetic sports fields. It will be useful in maintaining greens due to its ability to support natural plant growth. In turf fields, Silica Sand is used as the filtration media.
Industrial Abrasives
Silica Sand is extensively used as a primary mineral abrasive for industrial blasting. It is the operation carried out by forcibly propelling a stream of abrasive materials like Silica Sand against a surface under high pressure to smooth a rough surface, roughen a smooth surface, shape a surface or remove surface contaminants.
Water Filtration
Another commonly used application for Silica Sand is water filtration. In case, if we want to filter our well water or tap water, this is very useful. Because of its uniform size, Silica Sand provides efficient filtration that consistently removes all kinds of contaminants from water. Additionally, it does not degrade when it’s exposed to acidic chemicals. All these attributes make ‘Silica Sand’ the most sought after filtration media.
Ceramics Materials
Silica Sand is an essential component in the building and finishing of all types of ceramics including tableware, floor tiles and wall tiles etc. Silica helps as the fundamental backbone of various ceramic products helping to regulate enlargement and contraction, ensuring ceramics dry properly, and improving the overall durability of the items made of ceramics.
